Technical Specifications

We have recently introduced a truly fantastic Solid Roof system that has been fully approved and registered by the LABSS (Local Authority Building Standards Scotland) as checked for compliance with Scottish Building Regulations under certificate number EWS550.

The thermal performance specification required to meet Scottish Building Regulations is more stringent, and the required U-value of 0.15W/m2K (calculated to BS EN ISO 6946:2007) is achieved by supplementing the Solid Roof's external finish with a breathable membrane and 142mm Kingspan TEK structural insulated panel roof assembly, as well as additional insulation of Kooltherm K18 insulated dry lining plasterboard internal finish to provide an additional 42.5mm non-bridged layer.

To facilitate mandatory legal technical compliance procedures for site locations in all three countries, the updated certificate number EWS550 now covers England, Wales, and Scotland.

We can provide you with a free quote for the construction of a completely new solid roof sunroom or a quote to replace an existing conservatory roof with a retrofit solid roof, which can require statutory submission of Building Regulations application.
